  1. NUALS’ 1st Article Writing Competition on Restructuring & Insolvency Laws

We are elated to announce the results of the NUALS’ 1st Article Writing Competition on Restructuring & Insolvency Laws, 2021. This year’s competition has seen outstanding entries, which made our job of deciding the winners tough. The winners for this year’s edition of the competition are:

  • First Place: Devansh Sehgal & Ritik Khatri (both National Law University, Odisha) for their article titled, “Interpreting Service: Assessment of Rental Arrears as Operational Debt under the Indian Insolvency Regime”
  • Second Place: Divyansh Nigam (National Law University, Nagpur), for the article titled, “The Indian Prepack: A Solution?”
  • Third Place: Anmol Adhrit & Nikunj Baheti (Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow) for the article titled, “NCLAT’s View on Spectrum Dues under IBC – A Step Back to Pre-Insolvency Regime.”

The winners for the First, Second, and Third Places will be receiving a cash award of Rs. 5000, 3000, and 2000, respectively, along with the publication of their article in an upcoming book published by the Centre for Parliamentary Studies & Law Reforms (CPSLR), at NUALS.

In addition to this, articles by Bhoomika Agarwal, titled “A Crowdfunding Insolvency: Blurry Zone For Investors”, Parnika Goswami, titled, “Will Special Purpose Acquisition Vehicles Take The Indian Corporate Sector Uphill or Downhill?, and Shagun Singhal titled, “Suspension of Director’s Duties Under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 – A Need For Clarification”, have also been selected for publication.
